Neeyamo, a technology-enabled provider of global payroll and Employer of Record solutions, has officially launched Compass, a multi-agent artificial intelligence system designed to automate regulatory compliance and payroll execution across more than 160 countries. Representing the third generation of Neeyamo’s compliance AI technology, Compass advances beyond mere statutory detection and regulatory monitoring to produce active, configuration-ready operational specifications that integrate directly into the core Neeyamo Payroll platform. The underlying architecture utilizes a council of large language models that independently analyze regulatory updates, escalating disagreements to human payroll experts to maintain rigorous oversight. Since initial deployment, the AI framework has monitored over 11,000 global regulatory updates, compressed the timeline from legal publication to actionable system recommendations from three weeks down to just 48 hours, and achieved a 94 percent rate of unchanged acceptance by human reviewers.

Beyond continuous compliance tracking, Compass assists with new-country setup designs and associate training prior to live payroll cycles. Emphasizing the operational rigor required when deploying AI in critical financial workflows, Shakil Gour, SVP and Head of Payroll Product & Integrations at Neeyamo, stated: “In 2024 we proved AI could tell us a rule had changed. The harder problem was what to do about it which countries, which pay elements, with what evidence. Compass understands Neeyamo Payroll the way our engineers do, so its output is a change we can apply, not a memo to interpret. Every recommendation is approved by a payroll professional and scored against what they would have done; autonomy is granted rule by rule, only where that record earns it. That is how AI should be allowed to touch pay.” Overall, this launch equips multinational enterprises with a human-in-the-loop AI framework that turns complex global regulatory shifts into audit-ready, automated payroll configurations.
