Thunes has recently launched a new solution for international payouts that allows businesses to pay freelancers, remote workers, and gig economy workers instantly. The solution has been developed to address the inefficiencies in international payouts by sending instant payouts to billions of endpoints through a single integration.
The solution allows companies to send payouts to 12 billion bank accounts, mobile wallets, and stable coin wallets in 140 countries. The solution operates on a 24/7 schedule, enabling companies to consolidate payment operations through a single API. It eliminates the need for multiple banking relationships and technical complexities in international payouts. The gig economy is continuously rising, and speed and accessibility of payouts have become key factors in the growth of the gig economy. Studies have shown that 90% of gig workers prefer quick access to their earnings before choosing a payment option.
The current international payouts have been slow in meeting these demands due to inefficiencies in the traditional system. Thunes has come up with a solution by connecting businesses directly to widely used local payment networks such as M-Pesa, Alipay, GCash, among others. Moreover, the solution allows for stable coin payouts, which can help workers in countries with volatile currencies.

The solution is already being adopted across multiple use cases, including international payroll, gig platform payouts, e-commerce refunds, insurance disbursements, and NGO operations in complex or underserved markets.

Together with Thunes we are simplifying this through real-time payments across borders, to billions of endpoints. This allows us to guarantee that our clients’ employees are paid on time, every time, in the format that suits them best.”
Elie Bertha, Chief Product Officer at Thunes, said: “The gig economy and freelancing have exploded in recent years, but making global payments for these industries has proved difficult for too long.
