Press Ganey and UKG Unveil Integration to Advance Nursing Quality and Workforce Efficiency

Share

In a significant move to support nurse well-being and enhance patient care, Press Ganey has partnered with UKG to launch a new technology integration that connects UKG Pro Workforce Management™ with Press Ganey’s National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators®. This collaboration aims to simplify staffing workflows, improve data accuracy, and free up nurse leaders to focus more on quality initiatives rather than administrative burdens.

Through this integration, health systems leveraging both platforms can now automate the submission of workforce data to NDNQI—America’s most trusted benchmark for nursing performance. The result is a streamlined process that reduces manual entry, improves data reliability, and accelerates the availability of insights critical for improving care delivery and supporting clinical staff.

One early adopter—a large not-for-profit health system operating over 24 acute care hospitals across multiple states—reported saving one to two weeks of manual work per quarter by consolidating workforce data automatically across departments.

“Supporting a safe, high-performing healthcare workforce starts with giving leaders the right data at the right time,” said Jeff Doucette, Chief Nursing Officer at Press Ganey. “By connecting workforce data from UKG directly into our NDNQI platform, this integration helps automate manual processes and empowers nursing teams to focus more on quality improvement and exceptional care.”

The integration is expected to benefit healthcare organizations by:

  • Reducing manual work and errors through automated data transfers

  • Simplifying NDNQI reporting to drive timely, data-informed decisions

  • Supporting performance benchmarks like Magnet® designation

  • Aligning staffing operations with broader clinical improvement goals

Amid growing staffing challenges and rising quality demands, this initiative provides timely support for healthcare leaders striving to maintain high standards of care.

Nanne Finis, Chief Nurse Executive at UKG, emphasized the broader impact: “The healthcare industry, with nursing in particular, is seeing increased shortages and high levels of burnout, and at UKG, we want to ensure customers have the tools and technology they need to deliver the best care. Solutions that help healthcare organizations streamline how they manage data, improve outcomes, and support their workforce are top of mind for us. Joining forces with organizations like Press Ganey help us accomplish these goals by elevating the workplace experience and meeting the needs of nurses, so they can take care of patients.”
