Yardstik Introduces Human Trust Platform to Tackle AI-Powered Hiring Fraud

Share

Yardstik has launched a new Human Trust Platform (HTP). This platform goes beyond traditional background checks. It aims to tackle the rising threat of AI-driven fraud in hiring. The launch includes three connected technologies: Detect AI™, New Identity Verification, and Continuous Criminal Monitoring. These tools provide ongoing verification both before and after hiring.

AI is speeding up the creation of fake identities, forged credentials, and deepfake interviews. As this happens, old screening methods struggle more and more. Industry estimates suggest that by 2028, as many as one in four candidate profiles worldwide could be fake. Most organizations still use one-time background checks when hiring. This practice exposes them to financial, reputational, and operational risks. Employee credentials can change or become non-compliant over time.

Yardstik’s new platform aims to close the gap in workforce risk management. It shifts from a static, one-time model to continuous verification. Detect AI™ uses advanced fraud intelligence to find risk signals often missed by traditional systems. This includes payment anomalies, Social Security number inconsistencies, and device or location risks during screening.

New Identity Verification adds biometric matching against government-issued IDs. This helps ensure that the hired individual is the same person continuing in the role. Continuous Criminal Monitoring offers daily checks against national and state criminal and sex offender databases. It alerts employers to new issues as they arise.

“Our technology fundamentally changes how trust is established in hiring,” said Andrew Johnson, CEO of Yardstik. “A single background check is no longer enough. Trust isn’t static -it degrades without continuous verification. In a world where AI can fabricate identities in minutes, businesses need systems that continuously verify who people are and whether their credentials are legitimate and current.”

Together with Yardstik’s existing screening and credential verification services, the Human Trust Platform integrates fraud detection, candidate screening, and credential validation into a unified system applied throughout employment. According to the company, this approach enables organizations to move from reactive screening to proactive, evidence-based trust management.

“Traditional verification methods are already about 10 years outdated,” said Josh Cutler, Chief Technology Officer. “We’ve built the technology and data infrastructure to identify anomalies as they happen: payment patterns, device fingerprints, biometric mismatches, and more. We’re looking at signals most companies don’t even know exist.”
