YunoJuno and So Energy Partner to Build Agile Talent Strategy for a Greener Future

YunoJuno, a global leader in flexible talent solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with UK-based renewable energy provider So Energy to strengthen the company’s workforce agility amid rapid sectoral transformation. As the energy industry grapples with mounting skills shortages and accelerating technological change, this collaboration aims to support So Energy’s growth while maintaining operational efficiency.

Marking its tenth anniversary, So Energy selected YunoJuno to streamline access to highly skilled contractors, particularly in emerging technologies like generative AI, and to enable swift knowledge transfer to internal teams. By leveraging YunoJuno’s platform, the company can dynamically scale its workforce, deploying specialists for short-term innovation initiatives without sacrificing compliance or cost control.

“We were really excited to establish a formal partnership with YunoJuno,” said Jason Tunney, Head of Talent Acquisition at So Energy. “The platform allows us to tap into the temporary market and dial up and dial down new skills and existing skills in a really compliant and effective way, ultimately solving many of the problems we’re facing right now.”

The partnership directly addresses key challenges facing the energy sector, including the urgent demand for AI capabilities, the evolving nature of green tech roles, and the imperative to create upskilling pathways for a diverse, multigenerational workforce. With research showing that 80% of skills needed for the net-zero transition are known while 20% are yet to emerge, adaptability in talent acquisition is vital.

YunoJuno’s technology offers end-to-end contractor management, including IR35 compliance, onboarding workflows, and data-driven insights. So Energy is employing a “train-the-trainer” model, where contractors not only deliver on projects but also equip full-time staff with critical new competencies—an approach designed to future-proof the business in a fast-changing landscape.

Before the partnership, So Energy faced challenges in managing contractor engagements effectively. “YunoJuno has allowed us to create better oversight and control, while providing analytics that enable proper cost-benefit analysis of our flexible workforce investments,” Tunney noted.

This collaboration reflects a growing shift across industries toward skills-based workforce models. With nearly a third of job description skills expected to become obsolete within two and a half years, forward-looking companies are rethinking traditional hiring in favor of agile, hybrid strategies.
