Ashby is broadening its recruiting platform with the launch of People Workflows, a new onboarding solution designed to help organizations automate employee onboarding and improve the transition from hiring to day one on the job. The announcement was made during the company’s annual Ashby One conference in San Francisco.
Historically recognized as a provider of applicant tracking and recruiting tools, Ashby is now deepening its platform integration into the employee lifecycle. People Workflows is designed to do away with the disjointed onboarding processes that many companies still handle through spreadsheets, emails, and silos of systems.
This launch makes it possible for firms, upon a successful offer, to set the onboarding automatically, with recruiting HR IT, hiring managers, and other stakeholders all involved and working within one single workflow. It also allows the team to keep a real-time progress update, pinpoint the causes of delays, and furnish the new employees with personalized onboarding portals that clearly present their subsequent steps and the actions that they have to take.

“At most companies, hiring is highly structured and well-supported, but onboarding is not,” said Melissa Bierly, Senior Product Manager at Ashby. “There’s a lot of manual work, a lot of handoffs, and very little visibility. We built People Workflows to close that gap and extend the hiring process through day one and beyond.”
The platform is designed to reduce administrative work while helping organizations create more consistent and personalized onboarding experiences. According to Ashby, automated workflows can minimize delays that often lead to employee drop-off before official start dates, particularly for organizations hiring at scale.
Early access customers, including Flock and Renuity, have already begun using the solution. Laura Barnes, Vice President of Talent at Flock, said the company previously relied heavily on manual coordination and repetitive follow-ups. With People Workflows, much of that effort can now be automated while still maintaining a tailored onboarding experience.
Ashby mentioned that the new product release is a sign of the whole industry’s move to integrated workforce management platforms that combine recruiting, onboarding, and long-term employee engagement. And, the firm suggested that the onboarding growth might be the first step in offering other employee lifecycle management features down the road.
People Workflows has released in early access and is expected to be widely available later this year.
