Expensify and Playroll have teamed up to make expense reimbursement and payroll processing more efficient for companies that have internationally distributed workforces. The partnership has resulted in a new integration that links Expensify’s expense management platform directly with Playroll’s global payroll network, thereby helping to reduce the compliance difficulty for businesses that operate in multiple countries.
The integration will allow approved employee expenses to be automatically transferred into payroll systems, where reimbursements will be made in local currencies and be following country-specific compliance requirements. This solution, which is capable of supporting businesses with remote teams, extends to payroll and reimbursement operations in over 180 countries.
With the merging of expense management and payroll workflows, the partnership deals with a challenge that finance teams have been facing for a long time, which is the need to work with disconnected systems and manual processes to manage international reimbursements. Organizations will be able to export expense data from Expensify into Playroll after the integration, and it will be mapped directly into payroll workflows for more speedy and accurate processing.

The companies said the system is designed to improve operational efficiency by reducing repetitive data entry and helping businesses maintain visibility into employee spending across different regions. Reimbursements are validated against local payroll and compliance standards automatically, helping organizations manage audit requirements more effectively.
