Opportunity Hub (OHUB) and CompTIA are joining forces to address the growing demand for workers with practical artificial intelligence skills as AI reshapes jobs, businesses, and career pathways. The organizations will host the “Building America’s AI-Ready Workforce” webinar on September 16, bringing together workforce, education, and technology leaders to examine how workers, learners, entrepreneurs, and educators can develop AI capabilities that translate into career and economic opportunities. The initiative comes as CompTIA research shows more than 320,000 active U.S. job postings in August sought candidates with some level of AI skills, representing a 4.5% increase from July, while 87% of job seekers surveyed in 2026 identified digital skills as important to their career pursuits, with AI fundamentals among their leading learning priorities.

During the webinar, OHUB and CompTIA experts will discuss the AI and digital skills required for workplace readiness, effective prompting, responsible AI use, methods for assessing AI literacy, and ways professionals can combine AI tools with existing expertise and judgment. “Workers need practical skills and confidence to use these tools effectively and responsibly,” Blanks said. “This conversation is about helping people turn access to AI into career, business and economic opportunity.” Dr. James Stanger, chief technology evangelist at CompTIA, added, “The organizations that benefit most from AI will be those that invest in people, not just technology. Developing AI-ready workers requires a combination of technical fluency, critical thinking and subject-matter expertise. These are skills that can be learned and applied across virtually every profession.” The effort builds on an initiative announced in August through which OHUB and CompTIA aim to reach one million Americans by 2030 with practical AI training and education focused on high-growth opportunities.
