Securian Financial has entered into the Workday Wellness partner program in a move to deepen its integration with Workday and provide a more seamless experience for businesses and employees. Due to the partnership, Securian will build benefits integrations into the Workday benefits technology ecosystem. The first phase is anticipated to start in 2027 and continue through 2028. “Employers increasingly expect their benefits technology and insurance providers to work together seamlessly, and joining Workday Wellness is an important step in delivering that experience,” said Leslee Russell, enrollment platforms manager for Securian Financial’s Employee Benefits Solutions business. “By creating more direct, real-time connections between Workday and Securian, we can make benefits administration easier for employers, improve the experience for employees and continue meeting our customers where they choose to manage their benefits.”

Workday Wellness is designed to simplify connections between employers and benefit providers through embedded experiences and API-driven data exchange. Initial development will focus on APIs supporting real-time worker data and enrollment capabilities, including employee, eligibility and enrollment information, as well as evidence of insurability (EOI). Moving from traditional file-based integrations to APIs is expected to improve data exchange efficiency and create faster, more connected experiences. The initiative builds on Securian’s Platform Connect program, which provides API integrations between Securian and benefits administration platforms. “Our participation in Workday Wellness positions Securian to build the next generation of integrations our customers will need and helps us deliver a simpler, more connected benefits experience over time,” Russell said.
