Empathy, the pioneer tech company redefining how people meet life’s toughest moments, has introduced a significant expansion of its Loss Support solution to provide dedicated support for pregnancy and infant loss. The new hire, designed to allow employers to take care of their workers more effectively through one of the most common yet under-supported experiences, also welcomed on board Dr. Jessica Zucker, globally recognized clinical psychologist and reproductive mental health activist, as Empathy’s Pregnancy Loss Expert.
Dr. Zucker, author of I Had a Miscarriage: A Memoir, a Movement and creator of the global #IHadaMiscarriage movement, has spent over 15 years advocating for awareness and compassion in reproductive mental health. She collaborated with Empathy’s product team to shape the design and content of the new program so that it would reflect both clinical knowledge and emotional complexity.
“For four decades, I have battled to flip the silence, shame, and stigma of pregnancy loss on its head through my clinical practice, writing, and activism,” replied Dr. Jessica Zucker. “With Joining with Empathy, I hope to expand care more broadly to more individuals—transcending not just how we care for those who grieve, but how society cares for and honors the experience of pregnancy loss.”

The expanded platform enhances Empathy’s Loss Support solution, which is currently supporting millions of workers nationwide. Beginning next year, it will offer step-by-step support, emotional support, and practical resources for individuals experiencing pregnancy and infant loss. Major features include customized care plans, expert-crafted education resources, audio walks, meditations, a private journal space, and on-demand access to trained Care Managers.
One in every four pregnancies is miscarried. Most individuals who experience this loss continue to wrestle with mental health problems, but policies in the workplace tend to overlook these concerns.
Expanding to support those going through pregnancy and infant loss is an organic extension of our mission,” continued Ron Gura, Co-Founder & CEO of Empathy. “We’ve seen firsthand how thoughtful support can alter the experience of people getting through the toughest setbacks of life, and with Jessica’s vision and leadership, we can bring the same level of care to pregnancy and infant loss that has been Empathy’s standard for loss support since day one.”.
With this expansion, Empathy is even closer to bringing empathetic care into the digital and democratized age, allowing employers to bridge urgent needs and offer essential support at the darkest moments of life.
