Prometric, a global leader in credentialing and workforce development solutions, has announced the launch of a comprehensive new initiative aimed at expanding access to internationally recognized certifications in Ethiopia. Developed in collaboration with Pan African Educational Solutions (PAES)—the exclusive partner to Ethiopia’s Ministry of Labor and Skills (MoLS)—this initiative marks a pivotal step toward advancing the nation’s workforce readiness and global job mobility.
“Prometric is proud to stand alongside Ethiopia in advancing a bold and inspiring vision for workforce transformation,” said Stuart Udell, CEO of Prometric. “Together, we’re not only expanding access to global employment pathways – we’re unlocking human potential at scale. This work is about more than credentials; it’s about equipping the next generation with the tools to drive economic mobility and national progress.”
The initiative is backed by a formal agreement with MoLS and further strengthened by a Memorandum of Understanding with Ethiopia’s Technical and Vocational Training Institutions (TVTIs). Through this collaboration, globally standardized certification programs will be embedded directly into public training centers—providing students and job seekers with streamlined access to global employment markets.

Certification delivery will be led by Visionary Solutions, the dedicated credentialing division of PAES. Focused on high-demand sectors such as IT, healthcare, finance, and essential skills, these internationally benchmarked exams will empower Ethiopian candidates with globally recognized qualifications that align with the requirements of today’s competitive job landscape.
As part of the nationwide rollout, PAES has inaugurated its first certification and training center in Addis Ababa, with additional centers in development within government-operated TVET institutions. A total of five integrated certification hubs are planned to ensure equitable access across the country.
To support exam readiness and professional enablement, HubBits—PAES’s innovation and workforce development platform—delivers industry-aligned microlearning programs and provides affordable co-working spaces. These resources aim to foster Ethiopia’s emerging ecosystem of remote professionals and business process outsourcing (BPO) talent.
“This program is a national mission,” said Mekdam Aberra, CEO of PAES. “As the exclusive partner to MoLS and with Prometric’s global certification capabilities, we’re equipping Ethiopian youth with the credentials and confidence to pursue international careers. Our embedded approach in TVET institutions means this is not just a vision – it’s a system already in motion.”
Initiative Highlights:
- National Certification Access: Prometric exams delivered by Visionary Solutions in critical global workforce sectors.
- Pathways to Global Employment: Certified candidates gain visibility and access to job markets experiencing talent shortages worldwide.
- TVET Integration Model: Five certification hubs being embedded in government-run vocational institutions; two are already operational.
- Workforce Enablement via HubBits: Practical, short-term training and collaborative workspaces to help candidates thrive beyond certification.
This strategic initiative reflects Prometric’s ongoing commitment to empowering emerging markets with tools for long-term economic advancement—supporting Ethiopia’s ambition to become a regional leader in workforce excellence.
