Pearson and Cognizant Forge Global AI Partnership to Accelerate Career Development and Workforce Readiness

Share

Pearson and Cognizant have announced a global strategic partnership aimed at equipping workers with the skills needed to succeed in the rapidly evolving AI economy. The collaboration focuses on early-career development, mid-career transitions, and preparing organizations for large-scale workforce transformation.

Research underscores the urgency of this initiative: Pearson’s Lost in Transition report estimates inefficiencies in career pathways cost the U.S. economy $1.1 trillion annually, while a joint Cognizant–Oxford Economics study projects AI could reshape up to 90% of jobs and generate $1 trillion in U.S. economic growth by 2032.

Under the multi-year agreement, Cognizant will integrate its generative and agentic AI capabilities into Pearson’s learning platforms, enhancing products, learner experiences, and assessments. This includes leveraging Cognizant’s cloud-native Flowsource™ platform, Agent Foundry, and Neuro® SAN to streamline product development and support next-generation AI-driven learning solutions.

The collaboration will span three key areas:

  • Early Careers: Joint programs to help graduates, apprentices, and professionals build skills in AI, cloud, and digital technologies, supported by Pearson’s content and assessments across Cognizant initiatives like Synapse and its Immersive Learning Center in Chennai.

  • Redefining Learning: Co-developing products powered by agentic AI, AR/VR, and conversational AI to deliver more engaging and personalized learning experiences.

  • Global Workforce Transformation: Embedding Pearson’s talent solutions—including Credly, Faethm, and Talent Lens—into Cognizant’s workforce programs, enabling organizations to identify skills gaps, redesign roles, and create tailored training pathways.

“AI is quickly redefining the skills we need in the workplace. This means that the most critical skill is learning,” said Omar Abbosh, CEO of Pearson. “This is especially urgent for early career workers… Together with Cognizant, we can help companies diagnose their skill needs, plan for the future, and execute new talent strategies.”

Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, added: “We are excited to collaborate with Pearson to drive innovation within their own applications and across the education sector. At Cognizant, we are committed to continuously investing in learning… In partnership with Pearson, we are dedicated to leveraging our expertise in AI and digital engineering to create transformative solutions designed to benefit learners and educators worldwide.”

The partnership advances Pearson’s strategy to deepen customer relationships and expand its role in enterprise learning, while strengthening Cognizant’s commitment to shaping a future-ready workforce in the AI era.
