Udemy has developed its AI-based Role Play learning technology further by adding new customization and immersive video features that enhance practical and skills training for professionals and enterprises.
An important part of this update is that now organizations can generate custom Role Play scenarios per the industry, job roles, and skill levels. Besides that, by using immersive video, Udemy has brought to life realistic AI avatars that provide learners with more authentic simulations for increasing job readiness and communication skills.
“Developing certain professional skills requires practice in environments that mirror the real world,” said Hugo Sarrazin. “By expanding our Role Play capabilities with greater customization and immersive video, we’re helping organizations and individuals turn learning into action, building confidence and capability in the moments that matter most. This evolution of Udemy’s AI-powered Role Play technology underscores our commitment to delivering measurable, performance-driven outcomes at scale.”
Udemy’s Role Play application is intended to enable the learners to master critical conversations in a safe environment by enabling the users to practice important workplace conversations in an interactive environment with the help of AI-driven simulations.

According to Udemy, Role Play currently offers over 15,000 Role Play simulations created by instructors across a wide variety of professional skills. With these custom role play features, businesses would be able to create simulations that are relevant to internal processes and customer engagements.
For instance, sales organizations would be able to tailor simulations in line with their offerings and customers’ needs to prepare their teams for discovery meetings, objection handling, and negotiations.
Sarrazin added, “Adding immersive video and customization to our Role Play technology strengthens Udemy’s ability to deliver learning that translates directly to on-the-job-performance. With these enhancements, Udemy’s Role Play technology can be even more impactful in enabling learners to build communication skills, executive presence, and decision-making under pressure.”
Since launching the feature, Udemy reports that learners have completed more than 400,000 interactive simulations, reflecting growing demand for applied AI-powered learning experiences.
