Rain and Toku Debut Real-Time, Compliant Stablecoin Payroll System for Global Workforce

Share

Rain, a global platform for stablecoin-based card issuing and payments, has joined forces with Toku, a leader in compliant token compensation, to introduce the first real-time, compliant payroll infrastructure powered by stablecoins. The partnership aims to modernize payroll systems by enabling instant, cross-border salary payments in stablecoins, while ensuring regulatory compliance across more than 100 jurisdictions.

The collaboration leverages Rain’s programmable onchain payment rails with Toku’s tax and employment compliance infrastructure, streamlining payroll operations for decentralized and distributed teams.

“Payroll has remained one of the last major financial flows stuck in outdated systems,” said Farooq Malik, CEO and Co-founder of Rain. “By combining Rain’s onchain infrastructure with Toku’s compliance expertise, we’re bringing the benefits of stablecoins to the most important payment of all: your paycheck.”

The integrated system offers several key benefits:

  • Cross-border compliance: Toku handles tax calculations, labor law compliance, and net pay across jurisdictions, enabling payouts in stablecoins like USDC, USDG, and RLUSD through platforms such as ADP and Workday.

  • Instant onchain settlement: Rain routes payments directly to user-controlled wallets or digital asset accounts, eliminating traditional delays and reducing costs.

  • Earned wage access with global usability: Workers gain real-time access to earnings via Rain-issued cards usable at over 150 million merchants globally.

“Fiat payroll still moves on rails built in the 1970s. Stablecoin payroll has the ability to unleash a fundamental restructuring of corporate cash management,” added Ken O’Friel, CEO and Co-founder of Toku. “We’re excited to be working with Rain and making stablecoin payroll not just possible, but seamless, scalable, and compliant by default.”

The launch coincides with growing regulatory support for stablecoins, including recent developments like the GENIUS Act. As enterprises increasingly embrace digital assets, Rain and Toku aim to provide the technological and regulatory foundation to revolutionize how global payroll is managed.
