Yardstik has raised $30 million in Series B funding, led by Harbert Growth Partners, to expand its workforce trust and fraud prevention platform. The investment will help Yardstik address risks that can emerge after employees and workers are hired, as traditional background checks often provide visibility only at the beginning of the employment process. The company combines fraud detection, background screening, identity verification and continuous monitoring to help employers identify changing workforce risks throughout the employee lifecycle.

“The legacy background check industry was built around a single moment in time, even though workforce risk changes every day,” said Andrew Johnson, CEO of Yardstik. “This investment allows us to move faster toward our goal of equalizing access to modern workforce protection. Fraud signals before a check runs, monitoring after someone is hired and real-time credential visibility should not be premium add-ons. They should be the foundation of every trust program.” Fraud Insights and Continuous Monitoring, launched by the company, empower employers to not only have a better understanding of the risks their staff poses but also get rid of the tedious manual rechecks. Yardstik connects with HR platforms and applicant tracking systems like Greenhouse Lever Workable, Fountain Bullhorn Avionte, and Paylocity. The round of funding comes at a time when both employers and workforce platforms are seeking methods to identify fraud and identity risks that may arise after the initial hiring phase is done.
