Lifelong learning leader Pearson has acquired Baltimore-based Internet Testing Systems (ITS), an assessment technology company specializing in the management, delivery, and reporting of testing programs, to bolster its global testing, certification, and verification infrastructure. Integrating ITS directly into Pearson Professional Assessments formalizes and expands a longstanding commercial partnership between the two entities that dates back to 2009. The acquisition significantly enhances Pearson’s enterprise capabilities across the entire assessment lifecycle, incorporating ITS’s secure test delivery, remote testing and proctoring, performance-based evaluation, continuous certification maintenance, and AI-powered testing tools. This strategic expansion aligns with growing global demand from enterprise employers and credentialing organizations for secure, flexible, and verified skills verification across physical, remote, and digital environments.
