Alight Unveils Leave Planner to Simplify Employee Leave Management

Share

Alight has launched Leave Planner™, which is a new function within its Alight Worklife® suite of services. This innovative approach seeks to simplify what used to be an intricate process and highly governed procedure by providing employees with timely information regarding their eligibility for leave, benefits, and job security.

This service offers an interactive and easy-to-use process that gives detailed information about eligibility, pay, and job security. With this information, employees can make decisions when undergoing life-changing events such as caregiving, personal medical needs, or even grief.

“The Alight Leave Planner transforms leave administration, historically a highly regulated and complicated process, into a simpler, more familiar experience,” said Kevin Curry, Senior Vice President, Leader Leaves Solutions at Alight. “When employees are preparing for a leave, they need accurate information delivered at the right moment. With Leave Planner, employees can access the information they need in a clear, centralized view, strengthening trust with their employer during what may be a demanding time in their lives.”

According to Alight’s 2025 Employee Mindset Study, 42% of employees have taken a leave of absence in the past two years, underscoring the importance of accessible and reliable planning tools. Leave Planner addresses this need by guiding users from initial planning through to leave request submission, reducing confusion and minimizing errors.

Some important features are having access to real-time status of leave balances and histories, automatic determination of employee’s eligibility according to company policies and local laws, and a hassle-free system where no repetition of information is required. Additionally, the integration of paid leaves and vacations will give a clear idea of how an employee can use these benefits to have a continuous income flow.

For HR teams, the solution reduces manual processes and supports compliance, allowing them to focus more on employee support rather than administrative tasks. Currently available to U.S.-based customers, Leave Planner is part of Alight’s broader leave outsourcing services.

Looking ahead, Alight plans to expand the tool with AI-driven capabilities that will connect leave planning with broader benefits decisions, offering employees deeper insights into the impact of their choices.
