IRIS Software Group Appoints Surya Sagi as Chief Data and AI Officer

IRIS Software Group has named Surya Sagi as its first Chief Data and AI Officer, signaling a major step in the company’s efforts to strengthen its artificial intelligence and data capabilities. Effective immediately, the newly established executive role is designed to accelerate AI-driven innovation, enhance customer value, and support the company’s continued global expansion.

As a leading provider of software solutions for accounting, payroll, HR, and education, IRIS aims to leverage AI to deliver faster insights, improve decision-making, and help customers extract greater value from their business data.

Sagi brings more than 30 years of experience in data, AI, and cloud technologies. Throughout his career, he has led the development of enterprise data platforms, cloud-native SaaS solutions, and large-scale platform integrations across regulated industries and businesses of varying sizes. Most recently, he founded ARKA AI and ARKA Advisors, where he helped organizations transition from AI experimentation to governed, outcome-focused implementation. Prior to that, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Pitney Bowes.

In his new position, Sagi will oversee IRIS’ global data and AI strategy, including enterprise data governance, responsible AI practices, and initiatives that support product innovation, managed services transformation, and customer growth. He will also serve on the company’s AI Steering Committee and Business Systems Architecture Review Board to help ensure a coordinated approach to AI deployment across the organization.
