CLEAR, a leader in secure identity solutions, has partnered with T-Mobile to implement CLEAR1-an enterprise-grade identity verification platform-across the telecom giant’s operations. The collaboration brings biometric multi-factor authentication (MFA) into T-Mobile’s workforce security strategy, providing a faster, more secure alternative to traditional login methods.
CLEAR1 allows employees to verify their identity through a quick selfie, replacing outdated methods like passwords and one-time PINs with a biometric-first approach. This move is part of T-Mobile’s broader effort to tighten cybersecurity and reduce vulnerabilities to increasingly sophisticated digital threats.
“As cyber threats grow more complex and bad actors become more sophisticated, further securing T-Mobile starts with knowing exactly who’s behind the screen,” said Mark Clancy, SVP of Cybersecurity at T-Mobile. “CLEAR1 gives us a strong, identity-first approach that helps us build trust across our systems by verifying the person — not just their credentials. It’s a key step in strengthening our identity verification and better protecting our infrastructure, teams and customers.”

The CLEAR1 platform uses a layered identity model that incorporates biometrics, document verification, device signals, and source corroboration to provide real-time, high-assurance authentication. This approach reduces friction for employees while ensuring strong security.
“Identity is the foundation of trust in every organization,” added Jon Schlegel, Chief Security Officer at CLEAR. “CLEAR1 empowers businesses to strengthen security, reduce friction, and build confidence across their workforce. We’re proud to help organizations meet today’s threats head-on with a solution that’s fast, secure, and built for the real world.”
The partnership reflects a growing industry shift toward identity-first cybersecurity frameworks, driven by the alarming rise in impersonation attacks. U.S. government agencies have estimated that fraud involving fake IT workers has generated hundreds of millions of dollars annually since 2018—underscoring the urgent need for innovative security solutions like CLEAR1.
By anchoring access control in biometric identity rather than static credentials, CLEAR and T-Mobile aim to set a new standard in enterprise authentication, reinforcing infrastructure security and enhancing trust across digital environments.
