Atana has launched a new behavior-driven approach to workplace violence prevention, alongside updated training content, aiming to shift organizations from reactive responses to early risk identification. Announced during Workplace Violence Awareness Month, the initiative emphasizes recognizing subtle behavioral warning signs and fostering a culture of empathy, psychological safety, and proactive intervention. Developed in collaboration with industry expert James Sporleder, the model integrates behavioral science and human connection to detect potential risks before escalation occurs.

Atana’s updated “Getting Real About Workplace Violence (3rd Edition)” training uses immersive, scenario-based learning to help employees identify concerning behaviors, de-escalate situations, and respond effectively. It also incorporates behavioral intelligence data and embedded assessments to provide organizations with insights into workplace culture and employee confidence in reporting issues. “Atana’s approach changes the conversation in preventing violence in the workplace,” said Jeff Carr, Atana CEO. “Instead of asking whether a person poses a threat or is becoming dangerous, we should be looking at whether an individual is struggling. This shift opens the door to recognizing warning signs…” The initiative underscores a broader move toward prevention-first strategies in workplace safety.
