Employ Inc., a leading provider of people-first, intelligent hiring solutions across JazzHR, Lever, and Jobvite, announced a strategic partnership with digital identity network ID.me. The collaboration embeds trusted identity verification directly within Employ’s applicant tracking systems (ATS), shielding employers from the rising operational and security risks associated with automated candidate deception.
The initiative addresses a rapid escalation in corporate recruiting vulnerabilities. Driven by advanced generative software, candidate fraud has evolved from minor resume padding into sophisticated security threats. Unscrupulous applicants now utilize AI tools to fabricate complete professional credentials, generate deepfake video streams for live interviews, or deploy proxy candidates to secure remote corporate roles.
The scope of this issue is verified by current labor data. Employ’s latest Recruiter Nation report reveals that 23% of active recruiters have already encountered candidate fraud, while market research from Gartner estimates that one in four job applications will originate from unverified or completely fabricated identities by 2028. Left unmanaged, these vulnerabilities open corporate networks to financial loss, operational disruptions, and severe data compliance breaches.
“A resume or application are no longer the trusted signals they once were. And with the rise in AI, neither is a live interview,” said Dara Brenner, Chief Product Officer at Employ. “ID.me is the proven leader in trusted digital identity at scale, with a verification experience that’s both rigorous and inclusive. They share our belief that fraud prevention should protect both the business and the candidate, which made them the perfect partner for the identity layer of our fraud strategy. We’re protecting employers from costly bad hires, security breaches, and brand damage.”

Mitigating Recruitment Risks via Layered Identity Verification
The integrated solution integrates directly into Employ’s layered fraud prevention architecture. Rather than relying on rigid, one-size-fits-all checks that can alienate qualified talent, the platform permits human resource departments and corporate security operations to calibrate verification parameters based on specific role risks.
The automated verification framework operates across several distinct security layers:
Customizable Workflow Insertion: Enables employers to position identity validation checkpoints at any stage of the recruitment cycle, whether at initial portal entry or right before final offer letters.
Consent-Based Architecture: Prioritizes data security by requiring applicants to explicitly consent to validation, ensuring clear adherence to emerging international privacy mandates.
Minimized Investigation Cycles: Reduces the manual hours internal talent acquisition teams spend tracking or cross-referencing suspicious background profiles.
In order to ensure fair access among different candidate groups, the ID.me process involves multiple processing modes. Candidates can authenticate their identities either through the self-service portal mode, the video chat mode assisted by a specialist, or in person through physical verification centers. In order to ensure safety of candidate data, all personally identifiable information (PII) is processed securely by ID.me, and does not reach the Employ system in any way; rather, the platform just sends a cryptographic verification message confirming the successful authentication of the candidate’s identity to move forward.
Defending Corporate Networks Against AI-Based Attacks
The partnership allows corporate human resource departments to have a defendable and standardized framework for matching highly assured identity records with flexible hiring funnels.
“AI has made faking a resume, a credential, even a live interview easier than ever—which means confirming who you’re actually hiring is now essential,” said Taylor Liggett, Chief Growth Officer at ID.me. “Embedding ID.me’s verified identity layer directly into Employ‘s platforms gives employers high-assurance trust they can apply wherever risk demands it. Together we’re helping companies win the race for real talent while keeping bad actors out.”
The new verification functionalities are scheduled to roll out to all active JazzHR, Lever, and Jobvite customers during the second half of 2026. Chief human resource officers, corporate compliance leaders, and risk management directors can review system capabilities and explore fraud mitigation frameworks by visiting the companies’ official digital platforms.
