Rick Stern, CEO and founder of Stern Recruiting, brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the telecommunications industry to his new venture. Stern is best known as the founder and CEO of Nitel, a nationally recognized managed services provider and a powerhouse in the telecommunications MSP industry. He bootstrapped Nitel from a small venture into a thriving enterprise, scaling it into a market leader before its acquisition by Comcast in 2024. Under Stern’s leadership, Nitel earned a place on the Fortune 500 Fastest Growing Companies list an impressive ten times and was consistently named a Best Place to Work for over a decade. The acquisition marked Comcast’s second-largest managed services deal in recent years.

Throughout his career, Stern led the recruitment of thousands of professionals across key business functions, including operations, engineering, product development, sales, finance, and marketing. His firsthand experience in identifying and developing top talent exposed him to the inefficiencies in traditional recruiting. “Too often, recruiters miss the mark because they lack direct insight into the roles they’re hiring for. Without having lived it, they cannot truly assess the right fit and understand what hiring managers are looking for,” said Rick Stern.
