Tulip, one of the most popular frontend operations platforms, has raised $120 million in Series D funding from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, valuing the company at $1.3 billion. The investment is taking place when the manufacturing industry is facing issues relating to supply chain uncertainty and talent shortages, which current rigid industrial infrastructure is struggling to solve. Tulip offers AI-native and no-code software where it builds artificial intelligence directly into the operations system, making it possible to solve complex issues more quickly. The investment means that Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will use Tulip’s malleable platform to create AI-application software in its industry.

This move will mean the end of rigid industrial software. Commenting on the collaboration, Natan Linder, CEO of Tulip Interfaces, Inc., said, “We believe that people are the most valuable asset in any operation… Together, we will champion the frontline workforce, fostering a spirit of innovation and trust across operations worldwide.” Satoshi Takeda of Mitsubishi Electric added that the combined technologies will help accelerate DX, drive innovation, and strengthen competitiveness beyond traditional manufacturing boundaries.
