HireClix has introduced a new capability designed to prevent job seekers from reaching dead ends on employer career sites. The recruitment marketing firm announced its new Second Chance Page feature. This tool automatically sends candidates who click on closed job postings to similar, open roles. It aims to keep candidates engaged, boost application rates, and help employers retain qualified talent.
This update comes from the company’s 2025 Candidate Experience Survey. The survey found that 36% of job seekers drop applications due to long processes or confusing navigation. As competition for talent grows, HireClix believes that small, smart changes can significantly improve applicant numbers and quality.
“Today’s job seekers are fickle, so every touchpoint in the candidate experience matters,” said Neil Costa, CEO and Founder at HireClix. “When a job seeker hits a dead end, they often abandon the search entirely or move on to a competitor’s career site. Our Second Chance Pages are designed to build trust, provide smart options, and create a positive employer brand journey. Building career sites that provide candidates with a better overall experience while giving employers a second opportunity to engage those job seekers will drive a greater number of qualified applicants. A strong career site is built to make a great first impression, but no one wants to miss out on top talent simply because one specific job opening was filled – and now they don’t have to.”
Integrated into HireClix’s enterprise career site solution, the Second Chance Pages analyze elements from the original job listing—such as title, category, or location—to present job seekers with a curated list of alternative openings. Instead of encountering a 404 page, candidates remain engaged within the employer’s site, reducing drop-off rates and supporting a more seamless, consumer-like browsing experience.

Costa emphasized the significance of eliminating these dead ends: “Regardless of the ATS each client uses, employers have let these 404 errors happen for years with a total disregard for the candidate experience. That ends today with the launch of HireClix’s Second Chance Pages. We believe the candidates and the employers deserve better.”
Early user feedback underscores the feature’s value. “Since launching our HireClix Career Site, we have received direct feedback from applicants who talk about the clean, easy-to-use experience they had when applying for a job at Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub,” said Michelle Davidson, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub – Restaurant Growth Services. “Second Chance Pages give us the peace of mind that we aren’t losing applicants interested in working for our brand just because the job they originally saw is no longer available.”
The new feature helps HireClix humanize and modernize recruitment marketing. It comes after the launch of Recruiter Hub, a tool that lets recruiters connect with talent using personalized landing pages.
