Chegg Skills and PowerTrain Form Partnership to Deliver AI, Cybersecurity, and Technical Upskilling Across Government and Defense Sectors

Share

Chegg, Inc., a global leader in student learning and career employability, has established a strategic B2B distribution partnership between its enterprise workforce division, Chegg Skills, and PowerTrain, Inc., a premier provider of instructional design, human capital development, and secure public-sector technology solutions.

The collaboration unlocks direct access to more than 200 Chegg Skills specialized training modules via PowerTrain’s proprietary Callisto™ learning platform. The comprehensive curriculum addresses mission-critical technical disciplines, including artificial intelligence implementation, threat intelligence and cybersecurity, data analytics, and high-impact business communications.

Expanding Workforce Readiness Across Public Sector and Defense Infrastructure

PowerTrain has worked with different parts of the military and places like the Department of Homeland Security along with other federal groups so it gives Chegg Skills a way in for training programs aimed at public sector needs. That kind of connection helps both sides since Chegg can reach more government offices at every level while PowerTrain gets access to courses that focus on real results and skills people can use right away.

It feels like the timing works out because public sector groups are dealing with staff shortages that keep coming up. I think around a third of them see the problem as pretty bad or even worse than that and some teams end up spending a lot of extra time each week just trying to cover gaps in what people know how to do technically. Not sure how they measure all of it exactly but the numbers point to issues that are not going away soon.

“Access to information alone doesn’t build a skilled workforce. What matters is whether people can apply what they’ve learned in real-world situations,” said Colin Coggins, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Chegg Skills. “Our partnership with PowerTrain gives us an opportunity to bring this approach to government and defense organizations, helping employees develop applied technical skills and AI proficiency to perform with confidence and deliver meaningful impact.”

“At PowerTrain, we’re committed to helping government and defense agencies build future-ready workforces that are AI literate and technically fluent,” said Paul Jesukiewicz, Vice President of Innovation at PowerTrain. “Our partnership with Chegg Skills strengthens our ability to deliver practical, outcomes-driven training that equips employees with the skills they need today and for the future.”

Applied Learning Grounded in Instructional Science

Anchored in rigorous learning science, the Chegg Skills pedagogical model prioritizes applied execution, scenario-based practice, and verified competency over static video consumption. Outcomes documented in Chegg Skills’ latest Impact Report indicate that:

67% of participating professionals translate newly acquired competencies directly into their workplace responsibilities immediately.

75% of learners report enhanced operational confidence when leveraging modern artificial intelligence and enterprise digital toolsets.

Deployment Agility and Tailored Learning Pathways

Public-sector agencies have the flexibility to use individual course modules to address short term organizational gaps, or can follow a comprehensive development pathway aligned to strategic agency priorities. And, agencies can partner with Chegg Skills to create customized, mission-specific programs that are delivered natively on Chegg Skills’ secure digital learning platform to help ensure long term mission success.
